Model Two - White Dial / SS Case
The model two takes inspiration from the traditional dual crown diver archetype, but brings it up-to-date in a form that is simple, modern and robust. This update is followed through in the mechanics of the watch, which employs screw down crowns and a depth rating of 300m, instead of a true super compressor system. The use of a double-domed sapphire crystal, Super-LumiNova BGW9 and the Miyota 9039 automatic movement further demonstrates alkin’s central commitment to quality and functionality.
All elements of the watch have been distilled down to create a visually balanced piece that offers maximum legibility, functionality and versatility. The 41mm brushed stainless steel case has a utilitarian style with proportions that give it a presence on the wrist without being too bulky. The short lugs (48mm overall) reach down to hug the wrist, helping to balance out the slightly larger case diameter. To once again reflect the updated nod to tradition, the ‘hatching’ design on the crown that controls the bezel, has been laser etched, instead of machined.
To create a sense of ‘depth’ in the dial design, the model two employs a sandwich construction, with the hour indices cut out to expose the lower dial. This is further enhanced by a stepped rotating inner bezel being set 1.4mm above the face of the dial, creating a more contemporary and robust look.
The model two will ship on a brushed stainless steel bracelet with fully articulating solid links, solid endlinks and a milled clasp. Adjustment links are secured by screw pins and a six stop micro adjustment allows you to achieve a perfect fit.

First of all I had a peculiar experience: the watch was listed as sold out, but I liked the design so much that I asked if there were any left or if the production was planned to restart any time soon. Charlie let me know that he had a few white dial models left and I accepted immediately to purchase one, even though I was in love with the black dial one. The shipping took some time, mostly because of the italian customs, and I ended up paying additional vat totalling 631 euros, which wasn't expected, but I couldn't wait to try the watch out.
The watch itself is really something different. Reminds me of David Lynch works. It is entirely brushed, but its retro looking dial gives it a twist of unexpected elegance. In spite of its almost sharp edges toward the wrist it is totally comfortable to wear and it catches my eyes much more than other pieces.
As for the quality of finish my only complaint is that the lugs at 6 o' clock seem to have a bit too much play with the bracelet, but in daily wear this goes mostly unnoticed.
The lume is a show when it's been just "charged". After a few minutes the dial and numerals on the bezel fade more than the hands and the top triangle and I need to get a closer look to tell exactly the time, but this affects other watches in my collection from well renowned brands.
I planned to use it as my "EDC" or GADA watch but I ended up saving it for the weekends, and the accuracy has been uneven. I generally get about +25 s/d, which is within specs but I guess I'll have it regulated sooner or later.
I received my watch two weeks ago and I cannot be happier with my purchase. The build quality is excellent and the aesthetics surpassed my expectations. This is my second Alkin watch and I could not be happier. Charlie also goes out of his way to ensure to his customer is 100% satisfied. I am looking forward to Charlie's next creation.
After buying and returning a £600 Seiko due to QC issues, I decided to hunt for a British designed piece from a smaller brand and found alkin.
I purchased the M2 in white and WOW! Really beautiful watch in the style a wanted, great spec that looks awesome on the wrist. Feels and looks really nice quality and delighted with it. Delivery and communication with Charlie was great and I would recommend to anybody that wants something a little different, very cool and great value.
The quality is great, but the full lume dial is a little disapointing
Fantastic building quality and looks stunning. I was a bit worried it would look too big on my 6.5 inch wrist but it fits perfectly.
